DERAILING IMPERIALISM

A Guide for Activists, Journalists and National Governments.

After a detailed study of Imperialism we can see that, wherever we look,  this system executes identical components of the same uncomplicated strategy, and with only minor variations over the last three millennia – genocide, torture chambers, indoctrination, political prisoners, and so on. Outright invasions are proving less popular as time goes on, although Iraq, Afghanistan and now Syria prove that when the slightly subtler Neocolonialism fails, then an outright Imperialist Invasion will have to do.

In the preceding chapter, Gangster Plan, we have shown these components in sequence to lay bare the blueprint. Now it becomes possible to take each of those components and counteract them. As said previously, anti-Imperialism is a set of tools.

The objective of Book Two is to present a social mechanism by which we may level up power. It is not a simplistic solution and will take time to unfold. In the meantime we must slow the progress of rapacious world-domination types.

In the interests of a Sovereign nation protecting itself from the illegal incursions of a Foreign Power, I present a  Strategic approach to derailing Imperialism.

Using the same numbering as in the previous chapter, let’s itemise the strategy.

1. The Foreign Power will attempt to create a loyal and well funded media.

Expose the  funding sources of this media. The sympathies of their editorials is a good starting point to identify those outlets who favour foreign intervention.

2. They may look to impose a Trade Embargo.

The local Government must act to form Trade Deals with Counterweights, or at least threaten to do so, e.g. with China, Russia, India, Japan etc. International Corporations will lobby against an Embargo anyway – they don’t like losing trade and will probably subvert it, as we have seen with BMARC in Iraq and Burma.

3a. The Foreign Power will try to buy off the Generals.

Cultivate contacts within the Armed Forces – our own brothers, sisters, children –  to identify senior Military personnel whose heads have been turned. There is competition within the Forces, like anywhere else,  so any aspiring Colonel will be quite happy to push a corrupt rival out of the way as it will serve his own career advancement. Also, investigate which Officers have been trained abroad, particularly at the School of the Americas.

3b. The Foreign Power will attempt to smuggle arms to resident Militias.

We should  investigate arms smuggling by infiltrating Militias. Report to Police and Customs. Publicise your investigation at the same time to ensure that action is taken.

4. The Foreign Power will attempt abduction of the elected Leader.

The elected Government must beef up security. Create a Republican Guard. Handpick loyal troops to guard elected Leaders. It sounds obvious, but don’t make this mistake – Arevalo did in 1954 Guatemala, and Zelaya in 2009 Honduras, and most recently Morales in 2019 Bolivia.

5. The Foreign Power will arm Death Squads.

We can identify their location, steal the weapons and throw the guns in the sea. What will the Death Squad do? Call the Police?!

6. The Foreign Power will encourage (under threat of execution/abduction) that the local Leader emigrate.

As in step 4 above, a loyal Republican Guard will prevent any unsolicited approaches.

7. Torture chambers.

Established practices include publicising their existence and organising demonstrations by their front door, and inviting Amnesty and other Human Rights organisations to take a look. There will always be someone who works in the building who finds the practices too stomach-turning to keep silent and who will report to WikiLeaks as happened with Abu Ghraib prison during the Iraq War. They should be encouraged to blow the whistle.

Encourage released detainees to start legal class actions against the Commandant. Inform him that he will end up taking the rap which may encourage him to resign.

8. The Foreign Power will arm and train Militias via funding from NGOs like the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

As we saw in Chile, they won’t just fund media outlets. The NED is known as a CIA cut-out, i.e. a front for funneling CIA money. Identify the Cutouts – trace the money to identify the recipients. Publicity for us is Oxygen. Publicity for them is Carbon Monoxide.

9. The Foreign Power will encourage the Mainstream Media to fall into line, report the repressive new Government’s clean and shiny point of view and ignore atrocity.

We can, and do, use social media to highlight atrocity so the Media have problems ignoring it. Once we bring the issue into the Public Domain, they need to at least mention the problems lest they be accused of outright media censorship.

10. The Foreign Power will use its Intelligence Agency to buy the  services of leaders of Big Business.

Keep an eye on the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of  International Corporations for suspicious activity that looks like collusion.

11. Elections.

Report harassment and arrests of Party workers; and voter registration anomalies. Check spending limits observed, especially by Parties with rich backers. Invite International Observers.

It is only through the efforts of people engaged in the above tasks that countries as big as the United States can spend nearly 200 years attempting to completely own and control the people and resources of tiny countries like Nicaragua and Cuba, and still fail. There is hope for us all in that.

But we also see that many smaller countries have been unsuccessful in the fight to control their own affairs. In the next two sections we will look at the next steps taken by the Imperialist in entrenching themselves and at the strategic options open to us in rolling it back. And then finally we will arrive at the Big Picture Proposal – the mechanism by which we will level up with International Corporations.
